Nacional de la Historia / National Academy of History
( former building of the National Congress).
This building housed Argentina’s
National Congress from 1864 to 1905. The assembly room, with
its galleries, boxes, peristyles and portico with wrought-iron
railings, has been conserved. Visitors can also see original
furniture, manuscripts, prints, iconography and the collected
records of both Houses. Today, the building is occupied and
maintained by the National Academy of History, which gives
researchers and students access to archives, a coin collection
and a 100,000-volume technical Library.
